Revealing The Professionals That Keep My Hotness Hot!

If you're one of those folk that believe Joan Collins youthful looks are because she drinks liters of water and sticks her face in a bucket of ice every morning, your brains are blowin' in the wind. The sad fact of the matter is that after the age of thirty, collagen production slows down and youthful looks begin to dissipate, so by the time one hits forty-three/ish, the jawline is sagging and turtleneck sweaters instead of hiding, highlight the problem. So, action is needed -- time for a discreet nip n' tuck, while the skin has enough elasticity to spring back.
Taking the plunge this early is a wise move, as you'll look as though you've just come back from the spa, whilst waiting a decade will give you that ghastly wind-tunnel look and your dirty little secret will be obvious to all!
Of course, one can't go to any old surgeon -- research thoroughly and preferably go to one who has worked on a pal. Whatever you do, don't choose a doctor who advertises. My top suggestion is Dr. Andrew Ordon, who had a practice in New York, until he moved back to California.

He's now not only one of the top-rated surgeons in Beverly Hills, but also the Emmy nominated co-host of The Doctors on CBS.

My next pointer is maintenance -- fillers, Botox etc. are a godsend for the modern day man and woman, but once again choose carefully! The face is a tapestry - and the dermatologist/ aesthetician working on you needs to think like an artist, knowing where filler and Botox is needed and not needed. Too many in the industry just want to make money, pumping full syringes of filler into cheeks giving a chipmunk effect -- too much under the eyes, "pillow face", or into the lips, leaving the client with an unattractive "trout pout".
Undoubtedly the king of the natural face is Joel Kassimir, who injects only where needed, so you leave his Manhattan office fresh and beautiful.
Below is unseen footage of Kassimir working on me, shot in his New York surgery for the Sky1 TV show, Pineapple Dance Studios. He explains the mastery of how he replaces volume lost, not volume that was never there. He's also the only dermatologist I know that wears magnifying glasses, so nothing escapes his eagle eye.

However, Joel is in New York and I'm in London right now, so my go-to aesthetician in Blighty is the amazing Heidi Edwards, director of H&H Cosmetic Medicine.

Love and totally trust Heidi -- she doesn't take the money and run, if you don't need it, she won't do it. Plus, like Joel, she's a master of the art and studies the face intensely before putting a smidgeon here -- a smidgeon there. Coincidentally, she worked alongside my other fave dermatologist in New York, the gregarious Howard Sobel, who not only is a whiz at making one gorgeous, he also has great lasers, operated by fantastic technicians. (Technicians are key.) I love the Cutera Excel V laser to zap brown spots and spider veins.

Howard also took the unprecedented step of undergoing Fraxel resurfacing on his own face recently so he could relate more to his client's experience. Well -- that was his excuse! He is pretty vain, but adorable with it!
As for products -- Proctor & Gamble bought DDF, his first skin care line, and he recently partnered with Sephora to launch Sobel Skin Rx.

Now - lets talk improvement, not maintenance, and eyebrows are kinda important. They're the most transformative feature on the face, frame the eyes, determine expression, can make you instantly more beautiful and the girl Londoners flock to is Annette Power, a.k.a. The Eyebrow Queen.

She's an expert at microbladed eyebrows and Ombre eyebrows -- the former, superfine brushstrokes drawn with a microblade, hair by individual hair in a shade to suit your coloring-- the latter, a shaded and fuller look.

Of course, it's not all vanity. The woman below was born without full eyebrows.

So having eyebrows microbladed on by Annette would certainly have boosted this young lady's confidence!
Furthermore, the talented Ms Power excels in camouflaging scars, and is a blessing for peeps that have had a surgeon who has made facelift incisions in front of the ears. (Bad doc!)

And it doesn't end there! She also offers a nipple/areola tattooing service, excellent for women who have had breast augmentation and have post surgery scars that need disguising, as well as creating 3D nipples for ladies who have had breast removal and implants due to cancer.

Now -- let's talk about the physique. I haven't had surgery on my body -- no boob job, arm lift, tummy tuck etc, but can still rock a bikini! This I put down to good genes, juice fasts, and a regular combination of exercise and yoga in the fresh air as gyms aren't my thing. I can be found most days hugging trees and working out in Chelsea's Physic Garden. Some days my little spirit boy, Bobby Rich joins me, but soon gets bored and wanders off to play with the leprechauns and fairies hanging out in the garden. Bobby even chats to the trees and has names for them. The tree in the pic below is called Harold.

Okay -- I've done my good deed for the day/week/month/year/decade, sharing info that most keep secret -- the professionals that help me keep my hotness hot! And last, but definitely not least, always be aware that we can work on the outside, but ultimately beauty comes from within, so be kind and remember; "At twenty you have the face God gave you, at fifty, the face you deserve!

Namaste!
